North Carolina has a very appealing climate, and that's why so many people are moving here!

The beautiful summer days average 87 degrees with an enjoyable evening temperature of 67 degrees.  If you ever heard "It's not the heat - it's the humidity" - it's true!  Being located in the picturesque foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains combined with our elevation allows us to enjoy much much less humidity than most of NC.

During January winter days average 51 degrees.  It snows once or twice a year, and normally it's gone by the next day.  We get to enjoy the beauty of the snow without any of the work - I don't even own a snow shovel!

Ski resorts are just an hour away.  We are also 4+ hours to the coast, and don’t have to worry about hurricanes.

The area has a moderate, four-season climate.  The single most important factor in the state that influences weather is altitude.  We are partially protected by the Appalachian Mountains from the cold air that moves across the central States.  Extreme cold temperatures are rare outside the mountains.  The warmest days are found in the interior piedmont area and Autumn is the driest season.  North Carolina is outside the principal tornado area of the U.S.
